The Sit Down : A Conversation with Clinton Moxam

Warning! We are not responsible for any increased levels of thirst produced by this article! Culture Supplier’s own, JoJo Emale,  had the pleasure of sitting down and interviewing model and internet sensation Clinton Moxam. Clinton is a Jamaican American model who broke onto the scene early 2016, and has lit Instagram on fire. From his boyish charm, dreamy eyes, and amazing physique, Clinton has not only captured our attention, but has captured the attention of well over 230,000 of his Instagram followers. The ladies of Culture Supplier had quite a few questions to ask this Florida Boy. Here’s what he had to say:

Clinton, thank you so much for taking the time to speak with us to day. Myself and the ladies at Culture Supplier are fans of yours.

No, Thank you! The pleasure is all mine.

So let’s dive right in. Tell us a little bit about yourself.

Well as you know, my name is Clinton Moxam, I am a Jamaican American model from Florida. I was raised by my mom and was the middle child out of the bunch. Growing up, I played football and received my bachelor’s degree while in school in Florida. Now I reside in New York and pursue modeling full time.

Awesome! When did you realize, you had a passion for modeling?

Growing up, people would always say, “Oh you should model, you look like a model,” but I never really took it to heart. Then early March of last year, a picture of mine went viral, opportunities began to present themselves, and now I am in this position.

Were you surprised by the newfound attention?

It took me by surprise at first, to see how fast people were following me and sharing my photos, but it was pretty cool to say the least. My DM’s became very interesting after that (Lol).

I can only imagine! How was it deciphering who was messaging you for business and who was messaging you for other reasons?

It’s pretty easy to tell who is trying to shoot at me and who wants to talk business. Messages with heart eyes and kissy faces usually aren’t agencies, or casting directors, (Lol) but it is flattering nonetheless.

Speaking of flattery, what do you find attractive in a woman?

She must be a strong, genuine woman. She must be educated, sophisticated, and know how to make me laugh. Even better if she likes to work out, then we can work out together.

Okay relationship goals! How often do you hit the gym?

I try to workout at least 5 time a week. That’s usually the minimum.

Well we see it is doing your body justice! Future bae better be ready.

Haha! I appreciate it.

Since you’re a Florida Native now living in New York, Which location do you like better?

I love Florida, but I am falling in love with New York too. There is always something to do and so many interesting people that you come across. I doubt I would have met some of the people I know now, had I not moved out to New York.

Who have you met out here?

I actually met Tyson Beckford at his birthday party. He is someone I look up to in the industry, so meeting him was pretty dope.

I bet! That’s a lot of handsome for one to visualize you know. Like Beckford, you are of Jamaican decent. what are some of your favorite dishes?

Well for one, I must say the Jamaican culture out here in New York is awesome. I love Jamaican food. Curry goat is probably my favorite. I was actually on the phone with my mom early trying to get cooking tips over the phone.

Aww are you a momma’s boy?

For sure, she is my rock and motivation. She always taught me to be the best version of yourself no matter what the circumstance. Everything I do, I do for her.

We can see that she raised you to have a good head on your shoulders.

Yes, most definitely.

What is your definition of success?

Success to me is not about wealth. It is about being the best version of yourself and fulfilling your purpose in life. That’s all that matters.

That is so true! If you had to sit down with one person for dinner past, or present, who would it be?

I would have to go with Barack Obama. I just want to ask him questions about life and pick his brain.

As a new model, what are some of the challenges you are facing?

Modeling is a female driven industry, I had to learn how to stand out and make my presence felt. Being that I am a bit bigger than the average model, I am learning how to work with my frame and produce the best work possible.

Well judging by your Instagram, you have been producing excellent work! What has been the most interesting shoot for you to date?

The most interesting shoot had to be my most recent one in Chinatown. It was so colorful and full of life. It was one for the books.

That sounds amazing! What can we look forward to from you in the near future Mr. Moxam?

I have several projects in the works. Testing out my acting chops and working on being in a few fashion weeks. Just continuing to build on my platform and make an impact is what I plan on doing in 2017. So stay tuned for what’s to come.
