First Lady Michelle Obama is taking her mission to empower students to enroll in college to the next level. As part of her Reach Higher initiative, FLOTUS is launching a new website that will provide resources for high school students who want to further their education. The site, BetterMakeRoom.org, will feature information about SAT and ACT tests, financial aid, and assistance with filling out college applications. The site will also give students a platform to share their personal experiences and motivation to go to school. Her campaign has received the support of major companies, including Vine, the CW television network, Mashable, and American Eagle Outfitters. “I believe that education is the single-most important civil rights issue that we face today. Because in the end, if we really want to solve issues like mass incarceration, poverty, racial profiling, voting rights, and the kinds of challenges that shocked so many of us over the past year, then we simply cannot afford to lose out on the potential of even one young person,” said Obama in a statement.
