Curren$y and Wiz Khalifa release a throw-away from #2009

Curren$y and Wiz Khalifa have blessed us with  “Situations”, a track that did not make their collaborative project #2009. The track’s chorus may sound familiar to Usher fans, as it is a rendition of lines from his 2001 hit, “U Don’t Have To Call”.  The #2009 hashtag refers to the time frame that Spitta and Wiz were tearing up the internet during their come up together. Although the two have went down two separate lanes, they manage to link up frequently and give us a taste of that functional stoner vibe that only those two can create. The track includes multiple recycled lines from the two rapper previous tracks and gives a refreshingly nostalgic feeling to those fans who have been JETS/TGOD since the beginning. The cover art for this track features a throwback picture of the Mary Jane loving duo and Wiz’s dread-less, faded head is a indicator of how long they’ve been rocking with one another.

Curren$y has been pretty consistent with flooding the net with his “audio dope”. The release of “Situation” was proceeded by the release of the New Orleans native’s 7th project of 2016 , “Stoned on Ocean”. Khalifa, who’s also released multiple projects this year, is slated to release “Rolling Papers 2” sometime this year. This was confirmed via a series of tweets a couple of days ago.

You can also catch Wiz Khalifa on the road with Snoop Dogg, Jhene Aiko, Casey Veggies, Kevin Gates and DJ Drama for the upcoming “The High Road Tour”.
