Event Recaps & Press Release

Winter Ball of The Year |The Midnight Brunch Ball

Now that the winter galas have officially come to an end, The Culture Supplier chose to honor an event that we believe, will be a staple in the Dallas millennial culture for years to come. Move over Margarita Ball because the Midnight Brunch Ball is taking over!

This event is hosted some of the most beautiful men and women of color as they adorned themselves in their best tuxedos and gowns. It was like prom met winter wonderland, with seasoned food, young-grown folks, and an open bar!

Of course the event  featured DJ Nitecrawler, who  blessed the ones and twos with the latest and the greatest hits. Patrons could be seen swag surfing and flexing like it was 2009. The highlight of this event, for me, was that it took place in the mecca of black culture, Oak Cliff. Many galas and balls tend to outcast Oak Cliff as being “too hood” to host such an elegant affair. Well thanks to corporate baddie and social entrepreneur, Sydney Chandler, we turnt up and turned out in her “hood” and reminded the city that there is beauty in each, and every, sector of Dallas.

Truth be told, my realest friends came out of OAK CLIFF, TEXAS, so it was my personal pleasure to show support to this event and the city. You might also remember Sydney for creating the epicness, and COSIGN nominated event series, The Baddie Brunch. She hosted these events to uplift women and unite baddies in the City of Dallas. Since the start of the Baddie Brunch, we have seen this movement motivate other baddies, and even males, in the city and other states to commune in hopes of uplifting, motivating, and empowering our fellow baddies around the world.

With such a successful 2017 for this queen, I can not wait to see her purpose flourish and grow as she is now a host on the Good Culture Podcast! It is the first day of Black HIStory month, but I felt it was necessary to also share HERstory. Way to go Sydney on a successful year and we here at The Culture Supplier can not wait to see what else you plan to curate in the months and years to come.
