The Biggest Causes Of Stress for Millennials and How To Deal

We all have stress to deal with in our lives. It’s just something that everyone faces now and then right? That’s true and can be okay up to a point. The danger is when stress starts to pile up and becomes too much to handle. When levels of stress reach the point that they’re preventing you from being able to function or enjoy your life, that’s a problem. Too much pressure can make it difficult to cope or deal with even the simplest things. There are a lot of things that can create stress in someone’s life, but some are more significant than others. Here are some of the biggest causes of stress and how you might be able to deal with them.

Work

It’s probably not going to blow anyone’s mind to say that work is a pretty big cause of stress. It’s probably the most frequent source of pressure in our daily lives. A lot of that can come from the amount that we take on throughout the day. Being able to set something aside and focus your energy in a single direction can make a huge difference to your stress levels. It’s alright to say no sometimes too. It might feel like you need to do every favor that’s asked of you but taking on too much can leave you drained, stressed out and miserable. Plus, you’re never going to be able to do a decent job if you’re always switching from one job to another.

Personal relationships

Relationships are hard, and they take work. Not just romantic relationships but relationships with friends and family as well. Being unable to take the time necessary to maintain them can be a massive source of stress. It can make you feel isolated, not to mention the guilt at not being able to make time for the people you care about. The key is to try and connect with people in small ways. Send them a message seeing how they are just to let them know you’re thinking of them. Not every single moment with them has to be some massive event. Getting to sit on the sofa with a friend or a partner and just watch a movie together can be a wonderfully relaxed and intimate experience. You’re both adults, and it’s likely that if you talk to them about your stresses and worries they will understand. They’ll probably tell you they’re feeling the same way.
