With 82 games in the regular NBA season alone, Dallas Mavericks Dancers are no strangers to stamina. But finding the strength to perform countless high-energy routines each week and rock a skin-tight two-piece certainly seems like a tall order. Here, we investigate what keeps talented Mavs dancer Lexie going in the American Airlines Center.
What do you typically eat for breakfast on a game day?
A typical breakfast for me would be scrambled egg whites and vanilla greek yogurt with granola and fruit! If I have enough time I’ll also cook up some turkey bacon.
How do you stay energized throughout a game? Do you bring snacks or a certain sports drink?
To stay energized throughout the game, I make sure to have a healthy dinner. Our media dining team at the AAC always has great options. My favorite meal that they serve is tilapia, veggies, and salad! I like to have snacks packed in my bag incase I’m lacking energy. My favorite snacks are almonds. I also make sure to drink plenty of water everyday. There is no way I’d be able to make it through a game if I was dehydrated!
Is there a certain snack or energy bar you like to keep on hand during practices or day-to-day?
I ALWAYS keep a Quest Bar in my purse for those “hangry,” no energy, need-food-now moments! But really; they are filling, low sugar, and high in protein. My favorite flavors are Chocolate Brownie and Cookies & Cream. I buy mine at my local GNC, but you can find them at most grocery stores or online.
