Toby Liew, a 16-year-old A-level student from Gillingham, Kent, has created a macro lens that fits on most available smartphone models, which he hopes will become the next consumer technology “it” gadget.
The Magniband is a thin silicon band with a lens that can be placed over a smartphone camera to take close-up photographs or video.
The product retails for £4.99, undercutting many other versions on the market, which can cost as much as £200.
