REALTOR® Magazine’s “30 under 30” for 2016 was recently announced honoring 30 of the country’s premier professionals in the real estate industry. This year Dallas’ own, Scottie Smith II of Scottie Smith II & Associates was chosen out of nearly 400 applicants and will be featured in the May/June issue of REALTOR® Magazine.
As a native of Houston, Scottie learned how to make an impact early as the middle child among his ten siblings, and that influence can be seen in the trajectory of his business. Scottie started his agency with just one agent and since then the business has grown over 200% year after year with more agents joining now one of the fastest growing independent real estate brokerages in Texas. Scottie’s mantra is:
“I’m driven to empower the underdog with a goal of shattering the glass ceiling between the haves and the have not’s.”
You don’t have to be a client of Scottie’s to get his insight on what it takes to be a homeowner either.
He recently authored “ From Decision to Close,” a book of practical fundamentals and insight that gives people an honest and concise road map to home ownership. Scottie is making sure people who are seeking to become licensed real estate agents get great knowledge and training with the Lone Star Real Estate Academy, which he founded in late 2015.
Scottie has also taken the charge to assist the undeserved entrepreneurial community by creating the HUB Space, a non-profit incubator to support minority-owned startups. “It’s beyond an incredible experience to be named one of REALTOR® Magazine’s 30 under 30. Many of the past winners are people I look up to as inspiration, and now I’m honored to be among the ranks.
