Even though fall technically begins on September 22, it’s still broiling hot here in Dallas. Therefore, it’s absolutely still rosé season.
The pink drink is catching on in Dallas, with many bars and restaurants playing around with how to serve the wine. Here are five places where you can sip a trendy rosé cocktail or simply enjoy a glass of the traditional wine.
Cedar Grove
This indoor forest loves its catchy cocktails, so it’s no surprise it jumped on the frosé bandwagon. Frosé, you say? Yep, a frozen rosé slushie that here also adds in sparkling wine, Patrón Citrónge Lime, Aperol, and citrus. Sip slowly to avoid a brain freeze.
Ida Claire
The antique-chic vibe of this Addison restaurant does tend to appeal to the ladies, and so does the Wednesday special. Each Wednesday from 3 pm to close, gals can order half-priced bottles of rosé. If there are gentlemen in your party, don’t despair, because Vinyl Hour coincides from 3-6 pm, with standard discounts on beer, food, house wine, and cocktails.
Oddfellows
There is more frosé to be found at this Bishop Arts District eatery, appropriately placed on the menu with the intro “yay for booze!” Sometimes there’s even a little sprig of mint added for extra refreshment.
Gemma
This light and bright seafood restaurant has an incredible wine list, including quite a few wines on tap. There’s a rosé on demand in there, as well as a glass and half bottle each of Champagne Brut rosé. A handful of rosés by the bottle are also available, which is exciting when you realize rosé is usually just lumped in with “other whites.”
Standard Pour
Did someone say happy hour? Between 4 and 7 pm, Monday through Friday, $5 will get you a glass of frosé, which here is rosé wine mixed with peach liqueur and fresh berries.
