HipHop 4 Flint Day in DALLAS at Akoi Lounge
March 19, 2016 @ 10:00 pm - March 20, 2016 @ 2:00 am
Join us March 19, 2016 for HipHop 4 Flint Day in DALLAS at Akoi Lounge– A national day of unity for the city of Flint, Michigan! In April 2014, while the city was under the control of a state appointed emergency manager, their water became contaminated. The toxic water in Flint has made the water undrinkable and put the entire city in a state of emergency.
To help address the situation, the Hip-Hop 4 Flint coalition will host a global fundraising event, to raise funds to purchase home water filtration systems for residents that will filter both lead and bacteria throughout the entire home, making the water safe for both consumption and washing. Delivering clean water to as many homes as possible is the goal. Hip-Hop 4 Flint will gather local, national, and international hip-hop artists, journalists, activists, educators and supporters to raise funds to purchase water filtration systems for the homes of the residents of Flint, MI.
This event is being led by YoNasDa Lonewolf, emcee, published writer, and activist who focuses her work on human rights, indigenous rights, and social justice. So, feel free to visit the website for more information www.hiphop4flint.com or make a donation at www.dfwhiphop4flint.
