Our good friend in Oklahoma, DJ View has took his platform to another level and participated in a Ted Talk. He begins his story by playing some jams to get the audience moving. After a few songs Stevie Johnson ( DJ View) went on to present “DJ View’s ” .
DJ View’s Theory: Books, Beats & Classroom Seats reflects the overarching melodic blends and scratches of how a unique DJ retaining people on the dance floor encompasses the same transferable skills for higher education practitioners to retain students within the classroom. Faculty, staff and students will comprehend the struggle that a DJ within Higher Education faced to suppress his distinctiveness, while trying to fit into the cultural and political realms of academia.
Stevie Johnson is Special Assistant to the Vice President of Student Affairs & Advisor for the Black Male Initiative & Fellows Program at the University of Central Oklahoma. Stevie received his Bachelor of Science in Health and Exercise Science and Master of Education in Student Affairs from the University of Oklahoma. Mr. Johnson is currently pursuing his Ph.D in Higher Education Administration at the University of Oklahoma.
