It looks like Fargo Friday came a little early this time. Tory Lanez has announced the release of his second single “Luv” from is IG account. The island inspired track may probably have a lot to do with Canada’s heavy dancehall scene. We often hear Lanez use Jamaican dialect in many of his lyrics and song ad-libs. Ironically, much of the “dancehall type” music in circulation lately has come from Canada (Rihanna’s “Work” which was written by PND, Drake’s “Controlla” & “One Dance” and of course Ramriddlez, the dancehall Sweeterman).
Although Tory consistently drops music on his Soundcloud, this female friendly track clearly caters to the radio. With a beat that’s a little more “pop” than what we usually get from the Toronto native, Lanez continues to show us that he can’t be placed in a box musically. Tory’s exceptional writing skills come in to play as he professes his love to his new love interest.
We’ve yet to receive an official debut album from Tory Lanez. He’s been going pretty hard with the tours lately, so we can only hope that this single release will be followed by an album announcement.
