The idea of using jewelry as a means of expression is nothing new. Jewelry has had its place in the wardrobes of the artsy for thousands of years. The only thing that changes is the idea of what’s hot and what’s not, which is completely dependent on the season.
As with everything else in 2018, jewelry trends seem to be getting wackier and more outlandish. But guess what, we love it!
Here are some of the hottest celebrity jewelry trends for Spring 2018. If you want to stay on top of fashion this year, make sure you are rocking at least one, if not all of these!
Asymmetrical Earrings
The days of perfectly symmetrical jewelry are long gone. More and more celebrities and fashion icons are representing the asymmetrical earring look this Spring, with almost all the major retailers catching on and offering pairs of earrings that you wouldn’t typically consider a match.
If asymmetrical isn’t your thing, then maybe it’s big, bold and brash. Huge, statement earrings are becoming more and more popular as the year progresses, with many famous faces being seen wearing earrings that look incredibly heavy. If you are digging the statement earring look, just remember, the bigger, the better!
Diamond Bracelets
Another hot pick for Spring is the diamond bracelet. It’s a classic look that seems to creep in and out of celebrity fashion every few years, but it’s safe to say that the bling is back, baby! Your bracelet should be big, bold and blingy, if you want it to stand out. So, don’t be afraid to go the extra mile with this one.
Anklets
As the sun begins to show its face a little bit more consistently, so do blinged-up ankles. Anklets are a popular piece of jewelry all year round, but there’s something about the Spring and Summer that makes people go crazy for them.
There’s no need to overdo it with anklets. Less is definitely better, and a simple thin chain will do the trick. Pearls and pendants are optional.
Break out the short shorts and get those ankles blinged up if you want to fit in with the celebs!
Pinky Rings
Yep, pinky rings! I told you that it’s the year of wacky and wonderful. I mean, do people actually think pinky rings look good? They look ridiculous, but they are everywhere this season. All of the big celebrities are wearing them so who are we to judge? At least that’s what all the hottest paparazzi pictures show!
If you’re brave enough to pull one off, consider bronze or gold. It adds a rustic look that makes the whole idea of a pinky ring seem less pretentious.
Layered Necklaces
If 2017 was the year of the choker, 2018 is the year of the layered necklace. They aren’t as affordable or as accessible as the choker but they certainly look better. Layered necklaces do feature a choker-like necklace in them, accompanied by two or three longer threads that make them look less “teen” and more “celebrity.”
Fruit Jewelry
Really, fruit jewelry? I know what you’re thinking, didn’t that die out in 2000? Well, I thought the same, but it looks like it’s making a comeback! It’s not my sort of style, so I doubt I will be rushing to buy some just yet. But if you dig it, why not give it a go?
