While it might be a little cold to go on an adventurous holiday now (unless you like Lapland!), it’s never too late to plan a trip in the new year to some wild destinations to get you excited for 2017. Instead of going on a sunny beach holiday with a relaxing atmosphere, how about treating yourself to an adrenaline-fueled sporting related holiday next year?
Horse Racing in Barbados and Dubai
Who doesn’t love a bit of horse racing? 2017 is a year filled with exciting horse racing events, such as the Sandy Lane Gold Cup early during March. Take a 7-night try to the beautiful west coast of Barbados and indulge yourself in some high-level horse racing action. You’ll get to explore the entire island during your trip, sample the authentic Caribbean cuisine on offer and of course, watch some excellent horse racing! At the end of March, there’s the Dubai World Cup, a sporting event with a high-class reputation. Dubai is a fascinating holiday destination with some of the world’s most luxurious amenities and hotels. You can enjoy sandy beaches, duty-free shopping, water parks, golfing clubs, and even surfing! Regardless of what your tastes are, you’re bound to find new hobbies as you immerse yourself in the exquisite scenery of Dubai.
Formula One in Melbourne
If you love racing, then you won’t want to miss the Australian Grand Prix on the 26th of March. Whisk yourself off to the city of Melbourne, a bustling metropolis with delicious food and exciting nightlife. When you’re done sampling the cuisine and dancing the night away, the Australian Grand Prix circuit is just a tram ride away from the city centre. The Grand Prix is a four-day festival of motorsports. There’s plenty of food and drink to be had while you watch the races, and it’s an extremely organised event with a clear schedule and plenty of space for spectators.
Once the races are over, extend your stay a couple of days and tour the rest of Australia. Spend a couple of nights in Sydney, a breathtakingly beautiful city with an amazing harbour that everyone needs to see. Don’t forget all the wildlife as well—there are plenty of tours you can go on to get up close and personal with some of Australia’s most wonderful animals and wilderness.
Extreme Sports in Nepal
If you want to get involved in some extreme sports, then there’s nothing quite like the Himalayas. Nepal is full of adventure for the daring. Take a light aircraft to some of the highest peaks and descend them with mountain bikes, bungee jump off rivers and paraglide down 8000m peaks. This isn’t a holiday for the faint of heart!
This is a challenging trip for adventurous folks. There are limited facilities, and you’ll be travelling to some very remote areas of Nepal. Make sure you’re healthy and fit before you take on the Himalayas. You won’t regret this once in a lifetime experience!
