[Dallas, TX – October 28th]
The NBA kicked off its season with a matchup of the NBA Champions , Golden State Warriors and the young guns New Orleans Pelicans. It was clear this game was lop sided from the beginning with an unknown guard attempting to play defense on Steph Curry he was in for a long night.
Curry put on a shooting clinic, hitting seven of his first nine shots with four 3-pointers for 24 first-quarter points. He finished 14 for 26 with seven assists and six rebounds in a rematch of the first round of the playoffs that Golden State swept 4-0. It was his 10th career 40-point game.
But to very special night for the team the Ring Ceremony:
Curry walked out to receive his ring to chants of “M-V-P!” from the raucous sellout crowd in blue 2015 champion T-shirts, then thanked the fans.
“This is an unbelievable day,” Curry said. “I got kind of goosebumps kind of reliving all the moments that we had.”
The ceremony also included a speech by Stephen Curry in which he thanked Dub Nation for their support. In a classy move, Curry also mentioned players from last year’s club that are no longer with the team.
