[The Big Screen] Denzel Washington’s ‘Magnificent Seven’ Trailer Released and Denzel Has The Game in a Choke Hold

There was a reason Denzel Washington showed up to the Floyd Mayweather/Manny Pacquiao fight last May with a newly minted gunslinger mustache.

denzelWednesday, the trailer for Washington’s latest film “The Magnificent Seven” dropped online.

The film is a remake of the 1960 American western directed by John Sturges. (Sturges’ film was a remake as well – a different take on Akira Kurosawa’s “Seven Samurai.”)

As expected, Washington is the clear headliner among the cast. The 61-year-old actor is joined by co-stars Chris Pratt and Ethan Hawke. The film is set in the ‘Old West,’ where Washington’s character and six other men protect a town under threat from thugs and thieves.

Director Antoine Fuqua brings his modern vision to a classic story in Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures’ and Columbia Pictures’ The Magnificent Seven. With the town of Rose Creek under the deadly control of industrialist Bartholomew Bogue (Peter Sarsgaard), the desperate townspeople employ protection from seven outlaws, bounty hunters, gamblers and hired guns – Sam Chisolm (Denzel Washington), Josh Farraday (Chris Pratt), Goodnight Robicheaux (Ethan Hawke), Jack Horne (Vincent D’Onofrio), Billy Rocks (Byung-Hun Lee), Vasquez (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), and Red Harvest (Martin Sensmeier). As they prepare the town for the violent showdown that they know is coming, these seven mercenaries find themselves fighting for more than money.
