NBC Universal Establishes Partnership with an HBCU

NBCUniversal has extended a partnership with the department of journalism and mass communication (JOMC) at North Carolina A&T State University to further develop initiatives to direct graduates of historically black colleges and universities into media careers.

On April 24, the last day of the department’s annual Media Week celebration, representatives from NBCUniversal including executive vice president and chief diversity officer Craig Robinson, Sal Mendoza, vice president of diversity and inclusion, James Seldric Blocker, talent acquisition lead-campus programs and N.C. A&T alumnus Anzio Williams, vice president of news at NBC10 in Philadelphia joined alumnus, television host and actor Terrence Jenkins to celebrate, Terrence J Day, to announce the partnership.

In March, NBCUniversal established a partnership with JOMC in which the media giant donated $50,000 to JOMC to sponsor the department’s annual National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) Multimedia Short Course.
