Drake Covers Folk-Rock Ballad “These Days”

Since Drake hit the music scene, he’s made it a habit to create remakes of songs from multiple genres (i.e.”Little Bit”, “Unstoppable”, “Sweeterman”). This time, the 6 God chose Jackson Browne and Nico’s “These Days”. The song was originally written by Jackson Browne but performed by Nico, a German superstar from the 60’s. This song has been covered multiple times and is considered a classic ballad by some.

Drake’s version includes a bass heavier melody and lyrics slightly altered to fit the international superstar’s life “these days”. One of the versions released features Washington, D.C’s Baebeo Baggins, who released the collaboration on her Soundcloud.

This emotionally transparent oldie was perfect for Drizzy to add his spin to. Listen as the Toronto rapper proves himself to be among the musical genii as he meshes genres and time periods to create a timeless tune. Check out the original “These Days” by clicking here.
