It’s safe to say Joey Bada$$’s mention of his album sales didn’t sit very well with Troy Ave. A diss tracked titled “BAD ASS” was uploaded to Soundcloud late last night. The New York MC holds nothing back as he sends shot after shot at the Pro Era member.
The friction began between the two when Bada$$ proclaimed himself the “#1 independent hip-hop artist in the world”. Troy Ave, who’s built his reputation on being self-made, rebutted that Joey Bada$$ was not technically “independent” due to his deal with RED Distribution.
For hip-hops sake, a fire response from Joey Bada$$ would be ideal. Considering that the two are New York rappers, maybe this rap beef will remain true to the genres roots and be fought with lyrics rather than tweets and memes.
