Dallas, Texas (November 25, 2020) – Since early March, the unprecedented coronavirus pandemic has changed the ways in which we work, travel, engage, and spend time with one another and ourselves on a daily basis. Anticipating a festive holiday season and the new year approaching, setting annual goals or resolutions during an economic meltdown was not a consideration on anyone’s list. COVID-19 has forced the world to slow down and spend more time at home, with fewer or different distractions. Lucky for millennials across the U.S., one social campaign is inspiring others to pull out their pen and paper.
Now in its 5th year, #NationalGoalWritingDay is dedicated to inspiring millennials to set goals for the year ahead. The social campaign is using the difficult, unexpected year as fuel to reflect and plan revolving goals on faith, health, family, and career. The day focuses on three core components: reflecting on the previous year, brainstorming the upcoming year, and creating a plan to execute the written goals.
National Goal Writing Day was launched under the Thirty Thirty Media brand, an interactive agency committed to experiential marketing & content curation. Since the campaign launch in 2016, National Goal Writing Day has had over 5,000 participants across the United States. “It is statistically proven that if goals are written down, a person is more likely to complete those goals. I started National Goal Writing Day because I want to ignite my community to be the best that they can be—with a plan in sight,” said Marcus Gilmore, founder of National Goal Writing Day.
