Keeping ourselves healthy and beautiful throughout the year is something we all strive for. Self care is so important and now and again we need to pay attention to things such as diet, our skin, and our hair to get them looking and feeling their best.
Today we are going to take a look at some super simple beauty tips you can do this week at home to keep you looking and feeling your best.
An at-home teeth aligner
If you have long been self-conscious about your smile, you may have considered getting braces. As an adult, the idea of getting braces can be daunting and many of us won’t do so due to the stigma around it. However, there are other options and aligners that you can use at home to help you straighten your teeth and gain a winning smile without the fuss. Try at home invisible aligners this week and start to transform your smile and your confidence.
Make your own nourishing hair oil
If your hair is starting to get dry and wirey after exposure to the sun in summer, it is time to treat it to a nourishing oil mask. You can make your own hair oil mix easily at home with some pantry oils and cheap oils you can find in any drug store. You can use any of the following oils in a mixture to make your hair oil:
- Olive oil
- Castor oil
- Coconut oil
- Macadamia
- Almond oil
- Argan oil
Mix some or all of these in a small travel bottle and apply to the roots and ends of your hair once a week, massaging for a few minutes before leaving for 1 hour. Wash out and your hair will be silky and smooth.
Use a sugar lip scrub
During the summer months, our lips can suffer from the heat of the sun, and as such, it is important to take steps to keep them plump and moisturized. One way to do this is to get rid of dead skin with a scrub and then use a balm to hydrate. Mix some olive oil, sugar, and 1 tsp lemon juice (optional) in a bowl until a thick paste is formed. Rub in gentle circular motions on your lips for 1 minute and then rinse off. Apply balm.
Purify your pores with lemon
Lemon is great for many things, and it has a wonderful impact on the skin. Cut a lemon in half and rub it in circles on your face for a minute or two. Not only will the acid kills bacteria and purify your pores, but the vitamin c inside will penetrate the skin and help form collagen to keep your skin youthful and elastic.
Make a tea tree acne treatment
If you are prone to acne as an adult, one thing you can do at home makes a simple acne treatment. Mix some tea tree oil and honey, and apply with a tip to the skin when a spot breaks out. Leave for 1 hour and rinse off.
