After waiting month after month ,1 hour before the deadline , Dez Bryant signed his 70 million dollar contract with the Dallas Cowboys.
The Dallas Cowboys and their franchised-tagged star wideout have hammered out a long-term contract ahead of Wednesday’s 4 p.m. ET deadline.
The contract puts to bed a summer-long drama t between Dallas and Bryant, who threatened to skip training camp and regular-season games without a new long-term contract.
“There was never a doubt in my mind that we wanted a long-term deal with Dez,” Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said. “We just had to get the pot right.”
To do that, Jones flew to New York on Tuesday with son and executive vice president Stephen Jones to meet with agent Tom Condon and representatives of Jay Z’s Roc Nation talent agency. The 26-year-old Bryant, who led the NFL with 16 touchdowns receiving last season has paid his dues early in his career now it is time to watch him deliver.
