The question “What happened to Lloyd?!?” always comes up after we hear that memorable “She’s 5’2…”. Well, the singer has returned and he’s opening up about some things in his new release “Tru”.
As it’s title suggest, the track is pretty open and reveals quite a bit about what the New Orleans native has been up to these last couple of years. From issues with business, family matters and his previous creative team, Lloyd exposes it all and asks his fans to ride with him in spite of his absence from the scene.
We’ve heard him on small features here and there, but it’s been a minute since we’ve gotten a complete track from Lloyd. It refreshing to hear his unique voice and he’s certainly still got it.
Listen as he excerises his impeccable vocal range on the J.U.S.T.I.C.E League production. Let’s hope this resurgence is followed by a full project.
