Wale shares the Colin Tilley-directed video to “My PYT.”
Shortly after becoming a father, welcoming a daughter with his longtime girlfriend,Wale is back with a music video to “My PYT,” the single he dropped in May that will appear on his upcoming album, Shine. The groovy, MJ-inspired dancefloor burner features MMG’s Sam Sneak on the hook and is produced by The Dope Boyz. The beautifully crisp and colorful new video is shot by Colin Tilley, who has recently achieved acclaim for the excellent videos he gave toKendrick Lamar’s TPAB tracks “Alright” and “These Walls.”
The “My PYT” video takes place in a grand estate, and Wale and Sneak are joined by a group of models whose moves pair well with the disco house production. The choreography, the backdrops, the color scheme, and the fashions are all perfectly coordinated. Well done to everyone involved. Shine is sounding like it could be the ideal end-of-summer soundtrack. Hopefully it sees a release some time soon.
