Malaysian singer-songwriter Yuna has teamed up with Jhene Aiko and the track is what we’d expect; two seemingly small yet powerful voices and a beautiful piece of work. The two singers are both great with turing their emotions and personal experiences into symphonically amazing tracks.
As the they tag team the mellow, drum heavy beat, the passion surrounding a relationship failed is evident in the voices of the song birds. Both Yuna and Jhene are talented, beautiful women who seem to refuse to let anything compromise their art. The honesty that can be found in their music is something they both have in common and it’s shocking that this collaboration didn’t happen sooner.
This track is featured on Yuna’s long awaited album, Chapters. She’s taken a more R&B approach than what we’ve typically heard from her, but it still feels pretty natural.
