[Girlfriends of Culture ] Teen Sisters are the Youngest Entrepreneurs in the Beauty Supply Market

Author : Alexandria Traylor

With the overwhelming success of the Black Girls Rock movement as well as the natural hair trend, two teenage sisters hailing from California saw a void and took their shot to make a mark in the beauty supply world. Keonna Davis, 21 years old and Kayla Davis, 19 years old are now the youngest women to own a beauty supply store in Moreno Valley, California.

After Keonna’s difficulty finding employment, the sisters saw the unfortunate lack of African American owned beauty supply stores in their community as an opportunity to capitalize.

They also aimed to cater to women that looked much like themselves of all ages. Keonna and Kayla wanted to have the opportunity for their customers to walk in and see faces that resembled theirs that can relate to similar hair care questions and issues. The Davis sisters didn’t stop at only servicing their immediate community. Whether you are natural or like to flaunt flawless extensions, there is something for you! Being young ladies who grew up in the millennial generation, the sisters recognized the strength and power that the internet holds in regards to marketability.

They decided to open up shop online for customers outside of California. These young ladies are the epitome of black girl magic. They are an inspiration for women older and younger. With women being the fastest growing demographic of entrepreneurs in the past 20 years, their vast amount of success is absolutely no surprise.

Congratulations to Keonna and Kayla Davis. If you would like to support their beauty supply store, you can purchase hair care items online at KDHairCareSupply.com. If you happen to be in the area, stop by the KD Hair Care Supply located at 24453 Sunnymead Blvd, Moreno Valley CA in Sundance Plaza.
