[Inspiration] Change Your Perspective – Word From Pops

About a month ago it was raining cats and dogs in Dallas, Texas.  I was miserable because a friend who was traveling on the West coast told me it was sunny and 70 degrees in L.A.  Around the same time people on the East coast were battling 2-4 feet of snow.

Just as the weather can be different from coast to coast, and can change overnight, so goes the storms of life.  A songwriter once said ‘life is filled with swift transitions”, however the norm for some people is to get bent out of shape when those transitions occur. Life has its problems and swift transitions on a daily basis, but I guarantee you someone, somewhere else is having it worse than you.  I suggest to you today, when the cares of life seem to get you down, don’t freak out or quit, just “Change Your Perspective”.  Change the way you look at the situation.

I like what the Apostle Paul said it in I Thessalonians 5:18.  He said, In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you”.  He didn’t say “for” everything give thanks but “in” everything give thanks. Instead of letting life situations get you down, find something to be thankful for.  God has blessed us in so many ways that we can’t allow one situation to destroy or distract our lives.  Instead, be thankful.  Be thankful for life.  Be thankful for good health.  Be thankful for strength. If you have a job or a business, be thankful.  If you have family, be thankful.  If you have transportation, be thankful.  If you have a little money in your pocket, be thankful.  If you can read this inspirational message, be thankful.  A thankful heart will always find something to thank God for.  Most of all be thankful that Jesus has paid the sin debt and we are free in Christ to live a life that glorifies God.  If you’ve put your trust in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross then you have so much to be thankful for. So when you change your perspective to one of thanksgiving, your view of that problem will change also.

Now, assess your problem using the wisdom and knowledge God has given you and solve it or move on in that situation that had you sidetracked.  Ask and it shall be given.  Seek and you will find.  Knock and the door will be open.  That means Pray about it and things will change just as fast as the weather in Big D.
