How To Lose Weight With Delicious Snacks

Written By: Morgan Rose Elliott

Weight loss is often a long and tedious process. There are foods that you cannot eat and everyday workouts can tire you, especially if you are low on carbs. However, weight loss doesn’t have to be such a drag if you know where to look for delicious and healthy snacks. Some ingredients will only encourage the weight loss process, while you will get to enjoy some yummy foods that will make you feel better about everything. So, if you want to start eating healthier and don’t know where to start, here are some snacks for you.

Popcorn

You’ve probably eaten popcorns many times in your life, but you’ve never probably thought about what are the additional ingredients you put in them that make them unhealthy. Corn is a perfectly healthy snack and when it’s in the form of popcorns, it’s even more delicious. However, try not to douse them in butter and salt, because those are some extra calories and fat that you don’t need. So, next time you plan on preparing popcorn, make sure to skip all those unhealthy toppings and you will have a tasty and healthy snack.

Protein Bars

Protein bars are always a good idea for a healthy snack. They can be store-bought, but there are plenty of healthier options if you make them yourself. You can use any ingredient you love and would like to enjoy in your DIY workout protein bar. You can use dark chocolate, nuts, fruits, almond flour, coconut flour and basically whatever you like and turn it into this healthy snack that you can eat whenever and wherever.

Nuts

Nuts are high in fat and calories that are great for your body and they can keep you full for hours. However, some of the nuts are better when it comes to losing weight and keeping you healthy and these include Brazil nuts, almonds, and walnuts. Brazil nuts, for example, are high in selenium which keeps your metabolism and healthy and running. Walnuts are rich in polyunsaturated fats, which actually help you reduce belly fat, and almonds can help you even more in this process, especially when you combine them with a calorie-restricted diet. You can eat a small portion of these on their own, or simply mix them into your protein bars or healthy breakfast.

Hummus and Carrot Sticks

Sometimes, we simply love dipping our chips or veggies into a dip. However, most dips will only fill you up with bad calories and carbs. Luckily, there is a great solution for your veggie dips – hummus. This dip made of chickpea is also a part of the Mediterranean diet and is super good for you and your body. Chickpeas are rich in protein, which means hummus is a snack that will keep you full for a long time. Plus, when you combine it with carrot sticks, you can really enjoy a nice and healthy meal without having to worry about gaining weight.

Greek Yogurt with Berries

Greek yogurt does make a great breakfast ingredient, but it’s not just for that. This creamy treat is filled with proteins and it’s low in calories and you can easily use it as a healthy snack. However, if you don’t want to eat just the yogurt, you can easily add a bit of honey or some berries of your choice in order to boost the taste, fiber intake and create a delicious snack.

Veggie Chips

You’ve probably already tried those bagged veggie chips, but those are filled with toppings that could only have more calories than you’d like. That is why you should try making them on your own. There are so many veggies that you can use for chips, from sweet potatoes, carrots, kale, beets, and zucchini, or you can simply mix them in and dip in hummus for extra flavor. All you have to do is chop them up in the shape you’d like, add a bit of olive oil and spices and bake them. There are no added calories, you choose the taste and spices and all the nutrients are there to stay.

Pumpkin Seeds

Pumpkin seeds are delicious when roasted and spiced up with a season of your choice. Plus, they are low in calories and are great for your weight loss goals. However, make sure to watch the serving size, because if you’re simply chomping upon them, you may intake more calories than you need.

Even though weight loss is a long process and it means that you have to give up on some of your favorite foods, it doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy yummy snacks. With these, your stomach will be full, you will enjoy all the ingredients and you won’t lose any progress in your weight loss goals.
